Outward Bound Trip – 17/04/25

April 17th, 2025|

This March, some of our upper school students took part in a residential trip to the Ullswater Outward Bound Centre, which is set in the beautiful Lake District.

It was a fantastic week. Our students went out of their comfort zones and took part in a range of outdoor activities such as abseiling, rowing, wild swimming and climbing.

Lots of fears were conquered and, as always, we are very proud of their achievements.

Landcraft Carpentry Project – 18/03/25

March 18th, 2025|

Winter is the best time for small DIY projects. Our students have recently enjoyed making some fantastic nesting boxes as part of their landcraft carpentry project.

The nesting boxes are made from recycled pallets. Firstly, students spent time preparing the wood by removing any nails/screws and sanding any particular rough or spiky edges, before measuring the wood to the correct size and creating their nesting boxes.

Once finished, students were able to take their projects home and use them in their own gardens or gift to family and friends.

World Book Day 2025 – 12/03/25

March 12th, 2025|

On Thursday 6th March, we celebrated World Book Day. This day is celebrated in over 100 countries. The purpose of the day is to celebrate reading books, and to encourage young people to develop a love for reading.

Our students took part in a number of book-inspired activities throughout the day. These included the online World Book Day quiz, which featured a number of exciting hosts and guests. There was also a fantastic online forum with Premier League footballers which our students particularly enjoyed.

Next week we have the West Sussex Library bus visiting us again. This will give our students an opportunity to exchange books and refresh our library collection.
