Numeracy

The maths curriculum consolidates learning from previous years and engages, enthuses and inspires pupils about maths and its real-life applications. Students work at the year group level appropriate to the individual, and lessons are differentiated appropriately.

Upper School There are two pathways in the upper school and both include accreditation:
Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills Mathematics 
This course is designed to develop numeracy skills and help pupils respond to a range  of real life situations that are also relevant to the workplace.
Pearson Edexcel GCSE Mathematics 
Pupils will sit three exams at the end of the course to achieve a grade of 9-1. Higher tier covers grades 9 to 4. Foundation tier covers grades 5 to 1.The more able students may also progress to Pearson Edexcel A-Level Mathematics
