In computing pupils gain functional ICT skills as they learn about multimedia and digital literacy. We have a dedicated computing classroom as well as computers in all teaching areas.

KS4 (Pearson) BTEC Introductory Level 1 Award in Digital Media
This curriculum focuses on the development of both transferable and digital media sector skills in areas such as problem solving, communication and research. The Award consists of a mandatory Unit which helps to explore and plan for personal progression towards college, training or an apprenticeship. The second Unit is an introduction to digital media skills and knowledge to support progression to the next stage of vocational learning. Some of the topics that could be covered include:

  • Storyboards, layouts and interactive presentations
  • Producing adverts and animations
  • Audio and film making
  • Editing and sharing media

The assessment is entirely coursework based and there is no external examination. The lessons consist of two double lessons in a dedicated computer suite with access to online content and multimedia software.
