Philpots Manor School provides day and residential education for children and young people aged 7 -19 who have a range of social, emotional, behavioural or communication difficulties.
These may stem from an inherited or acquired condition such as ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language disorders, or as a result of abuse (physical, emotional or sexual).
The School's ethos is based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. We follow the Steiner Waldorf curriculum and the National Curriculum as amended by a child's statement of special educational need. The therapeutic approach is based on the skills of a group of dedicated teachers, residential staff and therapists, most of whom have worked at the school for a number of years.
Most students are prepared for life after school with a gradual transition to college over several years. They also take GCSEs, AS, A level or vocational qualifications. Work experience is arranged on a weekly basis with a network of local businesses which have co-operated with us for years.
The School is an Associate Member of the Steiner Waldorf School Fellowship.
